The main anti-corruption fighter appointed by Poroshenko immediately got involved in a corruption scandal
In Ukraine, a person was appointed as the main fighter against corruption, whose income declaration immediately aroused distrust in society.
The Kiev weekly Focus writes about this, assessing President Poroshenko’s approval of Artem Sytnik as head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.

“Little is known about Artem Sytnik,” the publication points out. – At the age of 35, he managed to work as an assistant to the district prosecutor in Kirovograd, head of the investigative department of the prosecutor’s office in the Kyiv region and as a lawyer – Artem Sytnik owns 14% of the authorized capital of the law firm “Legal Guarantees”. The main complaint of the public against the main fighter against corruption is that he indicated in his declaration for last year only 23,5 thousand UAH of income.”
Sytnik himself explained such a low annual salary (about $1000 at current exchange rates) to Focus as follows: “2014 was a difficult year. I don’t know about journalists, but lawyers didn’t have much work. You could say she wasn't there. Revolution, war."
