A conflict is brewing between Zelensky and Kolomoisky
An internal conflict may arise in the near future between the new President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, who is called Zelensky’s patron.
Political scientist Yuri Romanenko writes about this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, a conflict will arise as soon as Zelensky directly experiences the loss of his rating due to appointments imposed by Kolomoisky.
"The situation with appointment of Bogdan shows that Kolomoisky was trapped by success, just like Poroshenko. Euphoria makes us turn a blind eye to the obvious losses for Zelensky from the rapid introduction of Bogdan. Kolomoisky thinks that the enormous opportunities from Zelensky’s victory will last for a long time, but Zelensky’s enormous opportunities are directly related to his legitimacy, that is, the approval of his actions by the majority of voters.
Thus, by creating problems for Ze's rating, he lays the foundation for a conflict with him. Because both Zelensky and his team are aware of this risk, that without a rating they have no power, and Kolomoisky may have power without Zelensky’s rating, since it will be possible to reorient himself to another figure. Therefore, I think that a conflict between them is inevitable as Zelensky begins to rely on other influence groups,” writes Romanenko.
