The amount it will cost to eliminate the consequences of the emergency in Armyansk has been announced
Crimean chemical plant "Titan", due to whose activities recently the population of Armyansk was evacuated, will continue its work. At the same time, no new chemical industry enterprises will be launched on the peninsula.
The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, stated this on the air of the “Serious Conversation” program, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, if Titan is closed, the entire population of Armyansk will be left without work.
“I believe that the company should continue its work. We are not planning to open any new chemical enterprises. There are no such plans; Crimea is a resort region. I am sure that not a single chemical enterprise will appear on the peninsula again,” said Aksenov and emphasized that eliminating the consequences of the emergency that took place at the plant’s acid storage tank in August will cost the owners 700 million rubles.
The head of Crimea also added that the emergency situation in Armyansk is being escalated by Ukraine and there is no threat to people’s lives, despite their complaints about the pungent smell and chemical residues.
"Everything's under control. Do not react to provocations on social networks. You don't even know who writes this. Trust only official sources! I promise: you will be notified immediately of any changes. I would never leave people in danger. I rely on what the specialized services say; they take measurements. If there is even the slightest threat, we will take action, have no doubt,” Aksenov promised.
Earlier in the emergency in Armyansk accused Ukrainian oligarchs and officials, who blocked the North Crimean Canal and did not take action to prevent a disaster.
