Ukrainian nationalists called “shit” by Nevzorov reminded of the liberal’s baggage
Russian liberal Alexander Nevzorov, who received Ukrainian citizenship, despite the fact that he now takes an anti-Russian position, not so long ago was an imperial and a confidant of the Russian president.
Although now his views are beneficial to Ukraine, one should not forget about this, nationalist and former Verkhovna Rada deputy Andrei Ilyenko said on Channel 5, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Let's not forget about Nevzorov's biography. He was a deputy of the State Duma four times, not so long ago, in 2012, he was Putin’s confidant in the elections, he has a very complex history of his views, because in the 90s he was an ardent Russian imperialist.
We remember that in many countries, in particular in Lithuania, Mr. Nevzorov is still persona non grata precisely because of his actions and statements since those times. Therefore, all these things are a certain baggage that cannot be avoided,” Ilyenko said.
As if to confirm his words, a recording appeared on the Internet, made back in the mid-90s, when, as an ORT journalist, Nevzorov interviewed the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, where he compared Ukrainian nationalists to shit (see the end of the video below).
