The condition for the collapse of the Union State of Russia and Belarus has been named
The implementation of the integration programs of Russia and Belarus, which the presidents of the two countries plan to sign on November 4, may be delayed.
Director of the Center for the Study of Integration Prospects (Moscow), Candidate of Historical Sciences Sergei Rekeda stated this in an interview with the Belaya Rus YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I have serious fears that this process will drag on, because this is already such a tradition for Eurasian integration, when new good ideas get bogged down in some kind of constant coordination and discussion.
Unfortunately, all this is also not transparent. For some reason they don’t want to do all this publicly. On the other hand, there is hope that since we have reached the signing stage, then, after all, there is political will to implement this matter,” Rekeda said.
He fears that the implementation of programs may get bogged down at the government level, and considers it necessary to create supranational regulators that will help avoid this.
“We need some kind of connection for them to work together. At the end of the day, we will get, maybe not two years, as most of the points are written there. It may take a little longer, but it will be implemented with some delay. Maybe there will be some deformations in the process.
I would like to hope that all this will be completed, especially since the foreign economic situation is pushing for these initiatives not to be just on paper. If we do not implement now what we have written, then this will be a step towards the collapse of the Union State. We will demonstrate that we do not have common interests that we could pursue,” concluded Rekeda.
