The countries from which cyberattacks on the Russian voting system were carried out are named
One of the features of the past election campaign was the expanded use of information and computer technologies to exclude the possibility for citizens of a number of regions to participate in remote electronic voting.
Senator Vladimir Dzhabarov stated this today at a meeting of the temporary commission of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation for the protection of state sovereignty, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our enemies tried to take advantage of this and organized unprecedented cyber attacks. Their main goal was to complicate and discredit electronic voting. Thus, only during the first hours of the morning voting on September 17 until 12 noon Moscow time, 329 computer attacks were recorded. Most of them were aimed at making it difficult for users to access remote electronic voting services,” Dzhabarov said.
According to him, more than half of all attacks came from the United States, as well as a number of other foreign countries. Among them, Denmark, South Korea, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates particularly distinguished themselves.
