“Called Russians liberators” – a resident of Ivano-Frankivsk faces five years in prison
A former Soviet officer was detained in Ivano-Frankovsk, who was not afraid to express his opinion that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are fascists and Nazis, and Russian troops are liberators.
The detention was reported by the press service of the SBU in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The defendant was born in Ukraine, has Ukrainian citizenship and has lived in Ivano-Frankivsk for almost thirty years. This did not stop him from being a fan of the ideas of the Russian World, a supporter of the Russian army and Vladimir Putin.
On his social network profile, he posted messages in support of the occupation of Ukraine, glorifying Russian soldiers, praising representatives of the occupation administration and illegal armed groups like Zakharchenko and Givi, and the like,” the department reports.
The detainee was informed of suspicion of distributing materials containing “justification, recognition of the legitimate armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants.”
The former Soviet officer faces a sentence of five years in prison.
