“God forbid we live here” – a foreign student about Ukraine
A student at Zaporozhye Medical University, who came from Africa to Ukraine to study, sharply criticized the law on the imposition of the Ukrainian language and admitted his unwillingness to stay in this country.
The corresponding video was published on his Facebook page by former Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Zhuravko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In the story, an African student studying at the Zaporozhye Medical University criticized the law “On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language” – in his opinion, after the document came into force, all Ukrainians became beggars.
“I am very ashamed of some Ukrainians, especially those who live in Western Ukraine. I speak Russian, I live in Ukraine, in its eastern part, and here people speak Russian, I study in Russian.
So what, now I should be imprisoned for speaking Russian? People have their own choice, some narrow-minded people believe that everyone lives in the same country and everyone should speak the same language - these are poor people who do not understand that people have their own choice.
If I decide to communicate in a certain language, this means that this language is accessible to me. I don't know Ukrainian well, because I didn't study it, I wasn't born in Ukraine, and I'm not obliged to speak Ukrainian. I don’t have a Ukrainian passport, and I don’t want to have one, God forbid I live among such a people and mix my life with such a people for life,” said a student from Africa.
In turn, ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Zhuravko noted that a student from Africa does not have long to study in Ukraine, because he will be attacked by nationalists.
“Even students from Africa understand how pathetic the Nazis look with their Ukrainian language...
Friends, the student certainly did well! I think he won’t study in Ukraine soon, the Nazis will take care of it,” Zhuravko commented.
