They don’t let you eat properly – Moskal called total Ukrainization illegal
The Ukrainian government grossly violates the Constitution and international charters by carrying out forced Ukrainization. In Kyiv, at least 70% of the service sector uses Russian, and any restaurant in the capital serves menus in Russian.
Former governor of the Lugansk and Transcarpathian regions, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Gennady Moskal stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Moskal emphasized that if the service sector is translated into Ukrainian, then soon there will be no one to cook borscht in restaurants.
“Go to any Kiev restaurant, why go so far to Transcarpathia? And say, “I want to have lunch.” The waiter: “Do you want to have lunch?” What language will the menu be in immediately? In Russian. That's it. Almost, I would say 70% of the service sector (in Russian), firstly, it is in private hands - there is nothing state-owned.
The owner himself selects his staff. He is of little interest in what language he speaks - the main thing is that he is a professional. Waiter, bartender, cook and the like. Well, if you want the cook to speak Ukrainian fluently, but not be able to cook anything - well, what, Kremin (Authority Commissioner for the Protection of the Ukrainian Language Taras Kremin - author) will put on a cap and an apron and cook Ukrainian borscht?
Listen, our parliament has done so many stupid things that the Constitutional Court there needs ten years to sort it all out. Not a single law complies with the Constitution and the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages. Raise this law - it is clearly written: “In everyday (communication) there are no restrictions on the use of regional languages or languages of national minorities,” Moskal said.
Thank you!
