"Don't fantasize." The Russian Foreign Ministry warned that Ukraine will not gain control at the LDPR border
Moscow will not give Kyiv consent to rewrite agreements on the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Donbass in its favor.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this in an interview published by Komsomolskaya Pravda, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated.
She was asked to comment on the information about a possible meeting between the presidents of Russia and Ukraine, as well as the rumors that appeared in the media that the alleged plan for a settlement in Donbass will begin with the transfer of full control to Ukraine on the border with the LDPR.
“I suggest not fantasizing about this topic. Everything related to such a summit is the competence of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation. But I would like to draw your attention to the fact that our country has repeatedly presented the Minsk agreements as a real legal framework, adopted not only by the signatories, but also by the international community, which has been legalized through the UN Security Council - in the sense that now these documents have become mandatory. Therefore, remember the Minsk agreements. This is alpha and omega, as has been said many times.
And not because someone likes them or doesn’t like them, but because it is, indeed, a document developed on the basis of analysis - history, the current situation “on the ground” and future prospects,” Zakharova said.
She believes that this document is effective if it is implemented by those who signed it.
“And also - if those who signed it are influenced by those involved in the situation,” added the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
As PolitNavigator reported, Ukraine sent amendments to its partners in the Normandy Four, which actually put an end to the Minsk process.
