“They don’t want ’97, they’ll go back to ’45”: Kedmi on the prospects of confrontation between NATO and the Russian Federation
If the West does not agree with Russia's proposal to return relations with NATO to 1997, it will have to accept the fact that Russia will return it to the state of 1945.
Israeli military expert, ex-head of the Nativ intelligence service Yakov Kedmi said this on the Vesti FM radio station, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, Russia has an understanding of what needs to be done and in the near future it will be known whether attempts at a diplomatic settlement will continue.
“They still think that not only do they have excessive self-confidence, they have always underestimated the enemy. That is, they are still confident that the Russian leadership can be bought with beads. And this is what they are trying to do now. With this they came to Geneva. “We’ll give you this.” And they want to talk about this, NATO wants to talk about this: “We’ll give you something little by little”... They probably want to force Russia, so that Russia will return them to 45,” the analyst said.
“There is an understanding. Russia will decide within a week after the 14th whether it makes sense to try the negotiation process again as soon as possible or whether it is necessary to move on to other methods. That is, already this month we will find out what stages Russia has next to solve this problem,” Kedmi said.
