“Putin, who pacified Chechnya, is missing”: a car with Prilepin was blown up in Russia
There was an attempt on the life of the famous Russian writer, one of the leaders of the party “A Just Russia - Patriots - For Truth” Zakhar Prilepin.
He was driving to his family in Nizhny Novgorod in the back seat of a car; an explosive device went off under the bottom of the car, as a result of which the driver and a security guard with the call sign “Evil” were killed.
The telegram channel of military correspondent Semyon Pegov Wargonzo claims that the writer’s daughter was riding in the car, but she was not injured because she was thrown out of the car before the explosion.
TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov points out that the writer was seriously injured, his legs were wounded, and a helicopter was waiting at the scene for evacuation.
“According to various reports, explosives were placed under the hood and the car was overturned by the explosion. A crater with a diameter of about 1.5 meters and 0,7 meters deep formed under the car,” Soloviev added.
Investigators and criminologists from the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region went to the scene of the terrorist attack.
“It’s not a fact that Prilepin will survive. The injuries are serious,” writes political strategist Marat Bashirov.
TV presenter Sergei Mardan points out that the assassination attempt did not take place in a combat zone.
“Not in Donbass. In Nizhniy Novgorod. In the former “closed” city of Gorky, enemies staged an assassination attempt on the Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin. We do not give in to provocations. Yeah,” Mardan says indignantly.
The scandalous journalist Ksenia Sobchak reacted in her own way:
“A terrorist attack is always an abomination and meanness. From any side."
“From any side, it turns out. I don’t remember any terrorist attacks organized by Russia against Ukrainian writers and journalists. Or did she mean Palestinians?” Mardan answered her.
Observer Sergei Veselovsky believes that in this way the Ukrainian side is conducting an “information counter-offensive.”
“Just yesterday in one of the chats I came across a discussion of the need for terror against the “mouthpieces of the Kremlin,” the so-called pool of Putin’s propagandists. Each of us, regardless of our “political color,” is first and foremost Russian for them. Killing a Russian journalist, publicist, public figure means exposing a section of the front. For a successful information “counter-offensive,” notes Veselovsky.
Journalist Igor Gomolsky expressed his thoughts on this matter, according to whom Russia should long ago begin to engage in legislative changes and create an analogue of SMERSH.
“Secondly, we, for example, are not very important people, but! Our handy operator-driver assembled a mirror on a stick using the dendro-fecal method. From a tripod, a mirror and some other crap. Whenever we have to spend the night in liberated territories, we first examine the bottom of the car, then look under the seats, and only then go somewhere.
Citizens, it’s like we’re at war! The price of a mistake is life. Or arms and legs, which is also a lot. If you are at least somewhat public, if your death has any impact on Russian society, then it’s time to learn to observe at least some safety measures. To the best of our ability, yes. If you don’t worry about this yourself, no one will,” says Gomolsky.
Minsk political scientist Alexander Dzermant also believes that tough measures are needed:
“I’ll say what I think – what’s missing now is the Putin who pacified Chechnya.”
Military observer Boris Rozhin published a post in which he called:
"1. Lift the moratorium on the death penalty for terrorism and high treason.
2. Recognize the SBU and GUR MOU as terrorist organizations, including so that persons cooperating with them could fall under point No. 1.
3. Recreate the SMERSH structure with the broadest powers.”
State Duma deputy Alexei Zhuravlev is convinced that the terrorist attack was organized by the Ukrainian side.
“Another terrorist attack on our territory, and there is no doubt who organized it - all the activities of Zakhar Prilepin were too much for the Ukrainian nationalists. I repeat, not for the first time, we need to close the borders to everyone who tries to cross them with Ukrainian passports. Intensify the work of the special services, for which purpose, finally, create an analogue of SMERSH,” the politician demanded.
Political scientist Sergei Markov also advocates a tough response.
“Without a doubt, the terrorist attack was organized by the Ukrainian terrorist regime with the support of NATO countries. Terrorist attacks are multiplying. Russia must respond, otherwise terrorist attacks will turn into a tsunami,” the expert emphasized.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, also blames the West for what happened.
“The fact has come to pass: Washington and NATO have fed another international terrorist cell - the Kiev regime. Bin Laden, ISIS, now Zelensky with thugs. Direct responsibility of the USA and Britain. We pray for Zakhar,” she wrote.
In Ukraine they do not hide their joy.
“The village of Pionerskoye, Novgorod region... An explosion under the bottom of a car.... The driver has already taken a seat at Kobzon’s concert... Prilepin bought a ticket, but is considering whether to go or not. We hope to see you at Kobzon’s concert,” triumphant leader of the extremist “Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars” Refat Chubarov.
A statement on this matter by a certain ATESH movement, which claims to be waging a “guerrilla war” on Russian territory, can be considered an assumption of responsibility (albeit with reservations).
“The ATESH movement has been hunting Prilepin since the beginning of the year. They got him. Everything is just beginning for the Rashists. Zakhar Prilepin was a lousy writer, and a lousy person as well. There was a feeling that sooner or later it would be blown up. That's exactly how we felt.
And it came true - I was driving my trump card Audi Q7 to visit my relatives in Nizhny Novgorod. But he was not driving alone, but with a surprise on the bottom of the car. The surprise worked.
