Journalist Ostap Drozdov stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is no need to ask anyone about NATO about the referendum. Several years ago I was in Latvia as part of the Ukrainian delegation, where we met with the then prime minister, who introduced Latvia into NATO. I asked him what you were doing, how you worked with public opinion. There are 30% Rashi, Russian speakers, who are the fifth column. This is almost the Ukrainian equivalent, plus or minus 30%.
He looked at me, smiled and said: “Why? We are the legitimate Latvian government. We have a political decision to lead the country into NATO. Dot. I do not like? Protest, rally. But there is political will.” And I tell Ukraine the same thing: don’t ask the stupid, zombified plebeians who watch Russian TV. Fuck them. There is a political decision of the state to be in this alliance. Period,” said Drozdov.
