“Does not reflect reality!” – Erdogan at the UN called for the abolition of the current Security Council
Since even the UN Security Council no longer fulfills its main functions, the current world order does not correspond to the changed realities and must be revised taking into account the interests of all countries.
Turkish President Recep Erdogan stated this during a speech at the UN General Assembly, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We call for the creation of an international system that would work for the benefit of all humanity. This vision is finding more and more supporters,” Erdogan said.
In his opinion, even the UN Security Council is already outdated, since it does not reflect the interests of most countries.
“Institutions created after World War II no longer reflect modern realities. The Security Council has ceased to be a guarantor of security; it represents the political strategies of only five countries.
Recent events in Cyprus have shown the failure of this international institution,” added the Turkish president.
