"Do not panic! Get ready” - Lviv residents are being trained to resist the Russian offensive
On the territory of the Lviv Rifle Club, training (“schools”) were held for the civilian population in the event of “Russian aggression.” They were organized by the Lvoshchyna Defense Headquarters as part of the Ukrainian national campaign “Don’t panic! Get ready." Lvov residents were taught sapper work, shooting and first aid.
The local publication “Zhovkva on-line” writes about this, as reported by the correspondent of “PolitNavigator”.
“The main goal of the event is to prepare the population for an attack from the aggressor country. Panic and confusion occurs when a person does not know the algorithm of actions in emergency situations. Considering that the war has been going on in Ukraine for the eighth year in a row, the population must be prepared, which is why such schools are necessary,” the publication writes.
Officials saw the event as a necessary thing.
“It’s nice that Vyshkol gathered so many participants. This shows how conscious and ready society is in the event of a military threat to defend itself, its relatives and its region. The acquired skills will certainly be useful even in peacetime,” said Vitaly Zagainy, deputy head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, who took part in the events.
