Not “Bee”, but “Bdzhilka”: Ukraine against the fund that saves seriously ill children

How far can human insignificance go? To find out the answer to this question, you just need to live in Ukraine.

For 13 years, the Bee charity foundation has been operating in Odessa, rescuing seriously ill children, including orphans - raising funds for treatment, helping hospitals, and much more. I won’t go into tearful pathos, because the topic of unavailability of treatment is both scary and serious at the same time, and certainly not something to be talked about. I will say one thing - I personally know people whom the foundation rescued from hopeless diagnoses, while the state labeled them “death row.”

The foundation has also been publishing the children’s magazine “Bee” of the same name for 17 years. The magazine's theme is entertaining and educational, and money from sales goes to save the foundation's wards.

And then, unexpectedly, the president of the organization, Elena Pavlenko, announced that printing of the magazine had been suspended. Why? Because its title and content in Russian did not please the Commissioner for State Language Affairs, Taras Kremin.

“The Bee Charitable Foundation distributes printed materials published in a non-state language,” the Odessa Department of Education notified Kremin and demanded that “measures be taken.”

Here's what Elena Pavlenko says:

“It turns out that a complaint came from one of the parents to the office of the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language. The essence of the complaint is the distribution of a publication in Russian in Ukrainian schools, thereby violating the rights of children... The author of the complaint has deprived young readers of the magazine... I am not ready to completely translate the magazine into Ukrainian. I don't like injustice. And no one will force me to do something that is absurd. I am not against the Ukrainian language, I am against categorical prohibitions. They don’t want to take into account the opinion of the Russian-speaking population, and I don’t see the point in fighting windmills.”

And so you look at all this and think - how does such a nonentity like Taras Kremin live? What will he tell his children later? How did he destroy a children's magazine because it was not "Bdzhilka"? And no one bought it, and, accordingly, no money was received for an emergency IV drip for some child with cancer. And this Kremin smokes the sky with the awareness of his own greatness, and for some reason he does not hang himself...

Is it worth it, after hitting the most humane of missions - rescuing children - to delve further into the topic of yet another destroyed Russian-language content, the alternative to which, if we talk about school, is ditties like “The snout of the pig is stupid - the whole world has been spoiled”? It’s not worth it, I think you guessed it yourself.

By the way, despite the fact that Elena Pavlenko presented a document according to which Kremin latched onto the “non-state language”, the Ukrainian media are actively promoting the version “Vata deliberately incited a language scandal” - no one, they say, touched the magazine on language grounds. And the directive from above came because “it was distributed in schools for money.”

Wake up, assholes! If you are so fair, then why do you care about a magazine for 15 hryvnia (half a euro), which was bought at will, and not about endless fees “for curtains” when we are talking about thousands, but about schoolchildren whose parents are not able to pay, as now is it fashionable to say, bully? If only we could remember about “children’s rights.” But by the way, what can’t you blurt out and what can’t you invent when the movable Reich Chancellery needs to be washed clean of the fight against seriously ill children. It won't work anymore.

And one more accent. Remember that the persecution of the fund began after a “complaint from one of the parents.” One. For a city of millions. This is an indicative moment of how even one traitor will always find support at the top of the Ukrainian government. This is how an armed, aggressive state machine works.
