According to Izvestia, development work and the creation of two test samples will cost 8 billion rubles. The revival of the Il-112 project was recently announced by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin.
Previously, it was assumed that Russia would acquire the rights to military transport modifications of the An-140 aircraft from the Ukrainian state-owned company Antonov. But negotiations that have lasted more than a year have not yet been successful, a source close to the Antonov company said.
According to a source who attended a government meeting on aircraft manufacturing on September 8, the contract between the Ministry of Defense and the Ilyushin Aviation Complex in the amount of 8 billion should be concluded in September-October. The production of the Il-112 is expected to be carried out by Voronezh OJSC VASO.
