Less than six months have passed: Nayem crawled out from under the rubble of Ukroboronprom and asked “what to do?!”
Over the past five years, the number of government orders fulfilled by Ukroboronprom has halved; private companies have filled this niche.
Ukrainian propagandist, ex-member of the Rada, and now deputy general director of Ukroboronprom Mustafa Nayem stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A specific figure that can be cited for Ukroboronprom is that over the past five years, the percentage of government executions in the state defense order has decreased by almost half. I emphasize - over the last five years, that is, while the war is going on.
Explain to me, please, maybe I don’t understand something: if Elon Musk, a new Bill Gates, some new “Facebook” in the defense sector stood next to us, and we understand that, therefore, that’s why private companies are receiving more orders and have taken the initiative from us - I admit that this is true.
But when there are no such companies around, except for a few small companies that are barely surviving. And most of what we produce - ammunition equipment, armored vehicles, everything that the state complex produced, we don’t have it now.
Where did it go, why did it happen? Who should be responsible? NSDC, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Defense, government, parliament? There must be a body that will say: “It should not be so that in a country at war, the state defense order takes a smaller share than private companies,” Nayem was indignant.
