Less than five years have passed: in Moscow they proposed to engage in agitation and propaganda in Ukraine

Russia should significantly facilitate the procedure for Ukrainians to obtain Russian citizenship, as well as develop a system of campaigning and comprehensive assistance to Ukrainian citizens.

Semyon Bagdasarov, director of the Center for the Study of the Middle East and Central Asia, said this on air on the Politika Plus YouTube channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We need to think very seriously about a very simplified issuance of citizenship to the Russian-oriented population of Ukraine. I don’t know how long, due to changes in our legislation, it may take Ukrainian citizens to obtain Russian citizenship, but it should be a very short period of time: a month, maximum two. What will we achieve with this? Those Ukrainians who work on the territory of the Russian Federation and are interested in working here longer, if they express a desire to be citizens of Russia, this citizenship must be given to the population of those areas in which he (Pyotr Poroshenko - editor's note) introduced martial law. Firstly, this reduces the mobilization resource of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Secondly, this increases the gravitation of this population towards Russia. How to do it? Our consulates, I think, will not be able to do this for obvious reasons - they will become targets of attack by radicals and various evil spirits. This means we need to think about how to do this on the territory of the Russian Federation. Including in border cities and centers,” the political scientist noted.

Also, according to the expert, Russia needs to organize widespread propaganda activities through radio and television broadcasting on the territory of Ukraine.

“The second is agitation and propaganda work. What in Soviet times was called special propaganda. I once gave an example that 37-38 television stations located in Europe, Canada and the USA broadcast to Iran. Let us organize several radio stations and radio channels, which will be targeted at the population of these regions. How this information will reach them is a solvable issue in the Internet era. We must deploy a propaganda system to this population, to show that we support them,” he suggested.

Semyon Bagdasarov noted that Russia should not solve the Ukrainian problem with the help of the army. According to him, it is necessary to take advantage of the rich experience of the Soviet Union in supporting the population of other states, and then the people of Ukraine themselves will restore order in their country.

“The people of Ukraine themselves are capable of overthrowing the existing regime. But he must receive support from Russia, and comprehensive support in all respects. Nothing in this world can be solved on its own; there must be support. The Soviet Union provided such support not just somewhere on our borders, but in Africa, in Latin America. And he always won. We have vast, colossal experience in this regard. I believe that civilian universities should have quotas for the population of these areas; they should study with us,” the political scientist concluded.
