“Don’t let me in!” Director and musician Emir Kusturica was denied entry to Ukraine

Agency UNN reported this, citing its own sources in law enforcement agencies.
The ban appears to be based on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture: it contacted the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Service of Ukraine in advance with a question regarding the “expediency” of Emir Kusturica’s participation in the concert planned in Kiev.
According to the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, requests to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Service of Ukraine were made exclusively “at the request of the workers”: supposedly Ukrainians en masse express their indignation at the director, who has the courage to publicly demonstrate his sympathy for Russia and support its policy towards Crimea.
