“Not one of the Ukrainian nuclear power plants exploded, that’s already good” - Zolotarev on the results of the year

Ukraine inherited from the USSR enterprises with a colossal technogenic load, and if nothing is done with them, this will lead to disaster.

Ukrainian political strategist Andrei Zolotarev stated this on the InterVizor YouTube channel, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The most important positive thing (of the outgoing 2020 - ed.) is that there was no disaster, and that’s already good. With all that we have on our hands, and we have on our hands a state with a colossal technogenic load - nuclear power plants, ammonia pipelines, and so on.

All this is worn out, and in the coming decades we need to think about either closing nuclear units, or modernizing, or building new ones. This requires money. All this can fail and create emergency situations, but, thank God, we got through it - and this, I emphasize once again, is already good. That is, the worst did not happen,” the expert concluded.

“Well, as for everything else, it is clear that a year ago, when we welcomed 2020, although many had premonitions that it would be a leap year and it would be difficult, few people thought about covid. Everyone was counting on it, and economic experts were talking about small but sustainable economic growth, but as people say, “it didn’t work out as expected,” Zolotarev added.
