“Don’t poke your nose into our affairs”: a Donetsk social activist responded to Western “human rights activists”
Today, the term “human rights” has become a selective tool for the West, which confirms the reluctance to notice the egregious crimes and violation of basic human values by the Kyiv regime.
This was stated by one of the leaders of the Donetsk Republic Movement, Aleksey Muratov, during the people’s forum “Our Struggle for Rights, Values, Ideals” held in the LPR, dedicated to Human Rights Day, celebrated on December 10, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Alas, recently this day has become an occasion for representatives of Western “democracy” to carry out a number of spectacular PR campaigns that have nothing to do with the real protection of human rights. We, the residents of Donbass, know better than anyone that human rights have long been devalued: we have been under fire from the world’s armed forces for eight years now. But the world is silent, “does not see.” It is much more important for the modern Western world to organize high-profile and financially costly projects to protect the rights of LGBT communities and criminals,” Muratov said.
He recalled that the Ukrainian authorities have not yet been held accountable for the deaths of civilians, illegal imprisonment, burning of Odessa residents and regular shelling of the LDPR, as stated in the lawsuit filed by Russia against Ukraine in the ECHR.
“In addition, in post-Maidan Ukraine, discrimination against Russian-speaking citizens is taking place, Russian-language schools are closed, and genocide of the population is being carried out. But should we expect a fair decision from the ECHR? I am sure that the policy of double standards will prevail in this matter, and the ECHR will not respond positively to Russia’s request. Moreover, a day later, on July 23, 2021, the ECHR rejected Russia’s request regarding the blockade of Crimea and the Russian language in Ukraine “due to the absence of a serious risk of irreparable damage to the fundamental right under the European Convention on Human Rights.” This is the “fair” decision of the European Themis,” the speaker emphasized.
It was also said that in July the ECHR recognized that the ban on same-sex marriage in Russia is a violation of human rights.
Thus, the European Court of Human Rights demands (!) to violate the Russian Constitution, to dirty the domestic institution of marriage and to introduce a legal procedure for the recognition of same-sex married couples,” the social activist noted.
Muratov believes that the beginning of the end of the principles of international law was the bombing of Yugoslavia by NATO troops in 1999 without the approval of the UN Security Council and warns that NATO is now actively developing Ukrainian territory, trying to drag Kyiv into a big war with Russia.
“As children, we learned the “Song of the Motherland,” which contains the following lines: “I don’t know another country like this, where people breathe so freely.” Living in the Soviet Union, we were not afraid for our lives, for our tomorrow. But when traitors tore our Fatherland apart in 1991, we stopped breathing freely - Western “democracy” unleashed its miasma on our land and devalued human life,” the social activist said.
“I am sure that the world’s human rights activists will continue to grist for the mill of the West. And Western “democracy” will poke its aggressive nose into our internal affairs, supply the Ukrainian military with weapons, kidnap and torture our people, and impose values and ideals that are alien to normal people. All this will last exactly until we restore our Fatherland. Only by uniting under the wing of Greater Russia will we begin to breathe freely again, in full confidence that our country will protect us,” concluded Muratov.
