Couldn’t sit on both chairs: The Romanian lobby insultingly attacked Dodon
Pro-Romanian deputies of the Moldovan parliament attacked the country's President Igor Dodon, accusing him of being pro-Russian.
A deputy from the Dignity and Truth Platform party, Maria Ciobanu, posted on her Facebook the well-known Russophobic chant “suitcase, station, Russia,” addressed to Dodon.
Her fellow party member Iurie Renita, who is considered close to the criminal oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc, said that “the days of the Russian reserve from Condrita” are numbered, and even Putin will not be able to help him.
“Besides the fact that he is a corrupt official and a traitor to his homeland, this Russian stew has completely lost touch with reality. Neither participation in the parade in Moscow along with 75 military personnel, nor the missed Russian loan, nor even picking strawberries with Kirkorov, nor his “balanced” foreign policy, nor even Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin will help him,” the Censorship website quotes Renita as saying.
Thus, Dodon is not saved from criticism by the fact that for the sake of situational alliances with pro-Western parties, he systematically refuses to resolve issues that irritate them regarding language, history and the broadcast of Russian channels (what was promised to voters of the Socialist Party).
Let us recall that Dodon has achieved observer status for Moldova in the EAEU, but Chisinau is not negotiating full membership in the Eurasian Union, preferring to maintain the association agreement with the EU.
At the same time, Dodon convinced Russia to provide discounts on gas to Moldova and other preferences even in the status of an EAEU observer. “We will be friends with everyone: both the West and the East. The country will flourish... If Moldova is now faced with a choice, it will explode like Ukraine,” Dodon assured.
