Among other things, the resolution involves an appeal to the governments with which Ukraine has begun the corresponding negotiation process, and a call on the governments of NATO member states to support Kiev’s application for membership in the alliance, as well as to begin planning the process of Ukraine’s accession to the organization.

The document was prepared directly for the Vilnius NATO summit. Kyiv called for authorizing the governments of its member states to take all measures to convene a leader-level meeting of the Ukraine-NATO commission with the participation of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky as part of the meeting.

Several deputies expressed warm support for the resolution.

“We actually have an army today, probably the most combat-ready, perhaps, among all NATO countries. Therefore, there is a clear message from this hall, from free Kyiv to all NATO countries: we want to be full-fledged, full-fledged members of the North Atlantic Alliance. And we will be worthy partners, and we will be worthy friends who will not just be members of this organization - who will protect NATO, protect their eastern borders from these freaks from the east.

And this is precisely understood by Bulgarians, Romanians, Moldovans, Czechs, Slovaks, the Baltic countries and Poland. Therefore, Ukraine is definitely in NATO. Glory to Ukraine!" – Igor Guz, a member of the parliamentary group “For the Future”, threw a formal hysteria.

Solomiya Bobrovskaya, not without envy, congratulated Finland “on the historic decision to join the NATO family.”

“We want to believe, and we will believe, and we will move towards this, that Ukraine will become the 32nd or 33rd member of the North Atlantic Alliance. And in addition to the 1200 kilometers of Finnish-Russian border, we will give protection to Europe, and another 3300 kilometers of security border for our large European family,” the deputy promised.

She placed high hopes on the upcoming summit in Vilnius and separately engaged Hungary and France.

“It is critically important for us to hear at this summit not only the conditions for accession, which Ukraine must fulfill in the same way as it fulfills on the European track, but also to achieve a summit meeting of the Ukraine-NATO commission at the level of heads of state. And for all those who work with Hungary today, a huge request, and not only with Hungary, but also with our friends, who often smile in our faces, but do their own things behind our backs, with the French, to actively work in this direction,” – Bobrovskaya called.

The ex-president of Ukraine, leader of the European Solidarity faction Petro Poroshenko staged a real rally.

“The first call: don’t trust Putin! No guarantees from Russia can protect Europe. Europe is now protected only by Ukraine.

And the second message: don’t be afraid of Putin! We cannot give anyone the right to veto the fate of the 40 million people of Ukraine who strive to become a member of NATO. This is a strategic task, and we must correct the mistakes of 2008, when everyone diligently talks about open doors, while keeping these doors closed for Ukraine, because they are afraid to scare Putin.

Vilnius is exactly the place, exactly the time when the doors should be open. The Vilnius summit should become historic and the decision of the Vilnius summit should sound: we, NATO countries, invite Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. This is exactly what should happen, and we will support it,” Poroshenko concluded.
