All is not lost: KIMO students turned out to be sane than the Russophobe Klimkin
Students of the Kyiv Institute of International Relations oppose the severance of diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the First Cossack TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Thus, out of 24 students surveyed, 15 responded that diplomatic relations must be maintained.
“I don’t think that Russia is something separate, Ukraine is something separate, for me it’s always integrity. I don't pay attention to things like political situations, some political debates. Their leaders, our leaders, they conflict with each other, but people remain people,” said one of the students interviewed.
Other future diplomats noted that breaking diplomatic relations would lead to an economic blow to Ukraine: “If we break diplomatic relations, we need to break economic relations, and this will hit the eastern regions very hard. Most businesses, after all, are tied to them. We may not like them, but we must trade.”
Respondents also admitted that Ukraine and Russia have too much in common in their history, and a break would lead nowhere: “I believe that any aggressive actions or policies between our countries are wrong, because we have always been on similar terms, always stuck to each other. I hope that sooner or later we will come to some kind of agreement and we will have peaceful coexistence.”
However, among the students there were also those infected with nationalist propaganda.
“I think so, because this is clearly an aggressor country and all EU countries, all countries have already recognized this. No one is hiding this anymore and, of course, it would not be very correct to continue diplomatic relations with such a country. If we remain on good terms with Russia, I believe that world leaders will turn their backs on us because it will show that we do not respect ourselves and that we have given up if we don’t break up.”
