“Don’t wait for Gorbachev”: Ukrainians realized that after Putin it will be even worse
There is no point in counting on the fact that Russian President Vladimir Putin can be replaced by a pro-Western politician, as happened in the late era of the USSR.
Ukrainian military expert, director of the New Geopolitics Research Network Mikhail Samus said this on NV radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our American partners need to be decisive. There is a conceptual problem, as far as I understand, in the administration of President Biden - they are not preparing for the transformation of Russia into the next state. The next state, I mean, is for the creation of several dozen new states,” the expert said.
“In the USA, for some reason, they believe that the victory over Russia will end in the same way as the victory over the Soviet Union - Gorbachev will come after Putin, start talking about glasnost, new thinking and perestroika, and everything will be fine, then there will be elections, Russia will weaken and there will be a period of the 90s.
Absolutely not - first, after Putin, a really ultra-radical patriotic paramilitary junta will come on the wave of either a putsch or a military junta, which will create huge problems for the surrounding world,” Samus said.
