In Donetsk, everything is ready for the primaries - voting stations will open tomorrow in the DPR, despite protests from Ukraine. Miroslav Rudenko, a deputy of the People's Council of the Republic, told PolitNavigator about this.

“Colossal work was done, and in a short time. About a million people live in Donetsk and its surrounding villages alone. In order to notify them and form areas, it took maximum effort. And now we see that a large number of residents are interested in the primaries. I think that everything will go well, at a high level in accordance with international standards.
Ukraine is afraid of the primaries; it is trumpeting that this is a violation of Minsk. In reality, there is nothing even close to violating the Minsk Protocol. Ukraine simply understands that this is a kind of information breakthrough that will make it possible to intensify the political process of resolving the situation in Donbass.
For us, the primaries are a shake-up. For two years now nothing like this has happened in the Republic, and now we are holding a rehearsal for elections to local councils. This is the mobilization of our population, this is the nomination of candidates who are ready to work and are not afraid to take responsibility, this is their ride through real election procedures. With the help of primaries, we are forming a personnel reserve for the state,” the deputy noted.
He recalled that observers from EU countries will monitor the primaries.
“Western governments are unlikely to appreciate our success. At best, they will disagree with Ukraine that this is a failure of Minsk. But residents of European countries will see that ordinary people live in Donbass, that we are also going through an election process here.
We already had representatives from Finland, Germany, Italy, and even representatives from the European Parliament. They participated in the meetings of the VRIC, they saw with their own eyes how we are preparing for the primaries. This can be regarded as another information breakthrough.
It is very important that among international observers there are many representatives of European countries who are fighting for their sovereignty from the United States and the European bureaucracy,” concluded Rudenko.
