The recent rumor about leaving Gladosovo is an attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to “turn on the back”
Two small settlements in the Gorlovka direction - Gladosovo and Travnevoye - have recently begun to occupy almost the central place in news reports from the contact line in Donbass. After the treacherous seizure of these villages located in the “gray zone” by the Ukrainian military, the situation there, both humanitarian and military, sharply worsened.

The head of the press service of the DPR Armed Forces, Daniil Bezsonov (“Goodwin”), reports a PolitNavigator correspondent about what is currently happening on this section of the front, and about the situation on the demarcation line in general.
P.N.: Two weeks have passed since Ukrainian troops entered the “gray zone” and occupied the two villages of Gladosovo and Travnevoe. What is the current situation in this area?
D.B.: Now there are no special changes happening there; Ukrainian military personnel continue to be in these villages. In addition, they are trying to negotiate a ceasefire through the JCCC in order to gain a foothold in these positions. I would like to note once again that for some reason the Ukrainian side presents the occupation of two settlements in the “gray zone” as a “great victory” achieved without losses, although after some time losses of about 10 people were announced by the Ukrainian side. It is not clear why they consider this a victory, because our positions were not there. These are ordinary peaceful villages in the “neutral zone”. In addition, they do not represent any military value, since they are located in the lowlands between two high-rise buildings. I see the point of going there and keeping them only as a PR campaign. The morale of the soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is extremely low, and I think they desperately need such moments to maintain some kind of fighting spirit.
Now they are going to request a regime of silence and build fortifications, but for what purpose is unclear. They are located in the lowlands, and in the event of some kind of military clashes they find themselves not only in an extremely unfavorable, but in a deadly situation.
P.N.: A few days ago, with reference to Ukrainian sources, there was information that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had completely abandoned these villages. It is now clear that it was a hoax. In your opinion, who benefited from this information, and where did this stuff come from?
D.B.: It’s difficult to say who benefited from it at one time or another. I think that the Ukrainian command and military-political leadership realized that this was a mistake, not to mention a violation of the Minsk agreements. Apparently, they tried to “turn on the back”, like: “we left, or maybe we weren’t there at all.” I also know that the humanitarian situation there is very difficult, and the people who live in these villages are in a deplorable state. I admit that the so-called “warriors of light” committed some crimes that needed to be hidden, and someone decided to say that we left, or maybe we didn’t come in. So this stuffing appeared, then they replayed something. One can only guess. There was a scandal with the UN, when they distributed humanitarian aid, which was allocated by the United Nations, and presented it as help only from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, without even mentioning a word about the UN.
P.N.: In general, what does the situation on the contact line look like now?
D.B.: As usual, consistently tense. Yesterday in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, a garbage truck was fired at, which has been working along the same route at the same time for the fourth year, taking out garbage, but for some reason Ukrainian military personnel decided to fire at it yesterday. And such shelling occurs regularly, the intensity just changes. But I want to say that the DPR military personnel are firmly in their positions and no one is going to retreat anywhere. The morale of our soldiers is high, everyone knows who is behind them, and who is opposite them. They know the face of the enemy.
P.N.: And the most provocative question in the end: your forecasts about the development of the situation on the contact line in the near future?
D.B.: What predictions can there be... The war has been going on for almost four years. After the Minsk agreements, which were concluded a little over three years ago, we see a certain trend. Firstly, if the leadership of Ukraine, in the person of the so-called “President” Petro Poroshenko, goes to Europe again to beg for money, then there will be some aggravation at the front, shelling will begin again. Secondly, the meeting of the working group in Minsk - also expect aggravation. Plus it also depends on the time of year. Closer to the New Year and after, as a rule, the intensity of shelling from the Ukrainian side also increases. In principle, I think there will be no surprises in the near future. Everything is as it was before, the intensity will only change.
The only thing is that there remains hope that Ukrainian military personnel, and primarily officers, will understand what is happening in their country and try to end this senseless civil war.
