The music did not play for long: In Kyiv they are going to terminate the contract for the supply of electricity from Russia
Kyiv, January 20 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Semenyuta) – Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Vladimir Demchishin allows the termination of the existing contract for the supply of electricity to Ukraine from Russia, which also ensured the supply of Crimea.
It is reported RBC-Ukraine.
The piquancy of the situation is that the contract between Ukrinterenergo and the Russian Inter RAO was signed only three weeks ago.

The minister was forced to backtrack by a letter published in the media, in which Prime Minister Yatsenyuk demanded to explain why the contract designated Crimea as the “Crimean Federal District of the Russian Federation” and how this would affect “Ukraine’s recognition of the Russian affiliation of the peninsula.”
The head of government’s reproaches also concern the established price for electricity for Crimea, which in the new contract is 15% lower than the current one. In addition, the prime minister asks his subordinate why the Ukrainian side agreed to direct supplies of electricity by Russia to the ATO territory and took upon itself the obligation to pay for these supplies, and demands to explain why the contract provides for a fixed price of electricity for Crimea, while Russia received the right to unilaterally increase the price of electricity for Ukraine.
“There (in the contract) there are no economically disadvantageous conditions... I have already explained all this to Yatsenyuk. I wrote a letter. He asked to do this before 12 o’clock (January 19), I sent the letter,” the Minister of Energy justifies.
And he adds that Ukraine can break this agreement.
Energy Minister Demchishin did not say what millions of Ukrainians will do if the contract is terminated and large-scale rolling blackouts resume.
