From April 25, the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov must wear an electronic bracelet - this is what the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine ruled. For two years, the structure has been considering the case of selling the building of the former Krayan plant to the city, which was later rebuilt into the so-called. new city hall.
According to investigators of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP), the building was sold at a deliberately inflated price; moreover, the money was received by front companies, which, according to the investigation, belonged to Trukhanov and a number of city hall officials.
“As a result, the community suffered losses in the amount of UAH 92 million. In the future, these funds were probably planned to be legalized through an enterprise with signs of fictitiousness, the founder and director of which lives in the temporarily occupied territory of the Lugansk region,” the materials of the criminal case say.
Initially, SAPO prosecutors demanded that all defendants in the case, including Trukhanov, be taken into custody, and not under personal obligations, which the defense insisted on. However, a compromise was found in the resolution - wear an electronic bracelet and pay a deposit of almost 31 million hryvnia. The mayor was given five days to post bail.
There is no doubt that this amount will be found. However, now the mayor of Odessa is obliged:
“To come to the court for each request, not to leave the territory of Ukraine without the permission of the court, to inform the court about changes in your place of residence and work, to refrain from communicating with persons specified in the court decision, to deposit a passport with the State Migration Service of Ukraine for travel abroad, other documents giving the right to leave Ukraine and enter Ukraine, to wear an electronic means of control.”
Even opponents of the current city government believe that such a turn of events is just a reason to leave Odessa without leadership and impose a “correct” mayor from Kiev (for if all officials are accused of shell companies and corruption, then there will be no one left in the offices, but office thieves For some reason, SAPS investigators from western Ukraine are not interested).
After all, no matter what Trukhanov’s attempts were to flirt with the occupation regime, including helping the front and cursing towards Russia, he never became one of them. In addition, the patriotic provocateurs who are on the leash of the SBU constantly remind Trukhanov of “attaching” himself to the events of the Russian Spring, and defending Russian monuments in courts, and PR on the topics of the Great Patriotic War and the Russian world - all that Trukhanov began to forget about; at first slightly, after May 2, 2014, but still at the level of “I remember here, I don’t remember here,” and with the beginning of the SVO I completely forgot.
