“Insufficiently thought-out planning of the operation” - the general about the successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Kharkov
The Ukrainian army launches a counterattack in the northeast of Kharkov in order to force Russia to ease pressure in the Donbass and cut off the supply of the Russian Armed Forces, which partially goes through the Kharkov region.
As a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reached almost the borders with Russia in this direction and got the opportunity to shell Russian territories.
To stop this, it is necessary to carry out an operation to liberate the north-east of the Kharkov region and push the Ukrainian Armed Forces back 30-50 kilometers. Lieutenant General of the Foreign Intelligence Service Leonid Reshetnikov stated this in a comment to PolitNavigator.
“This is insufficiently thought-out operation planning. We thought that now we would defeat the group in Donbass, and then we would take care of Kharkov, the border, and the Sumy region. And the progress of the operation is still quite slow in the Donbass, the enemy took advantage of this, since our main forces are concentrated there, launched an offensive near Kharkov, pressed almost to the border - 6-8 kilometers left to the north. It is also moving to the northeast of the Kharkov region, which was occupied by us. Of course, the loss of these territories and direct access to the border leads to increased attacks on Russian territory. First of all, in the Belgorod region, but it is possible that it will happen in others as well.
The method to counter this is retaliatory strikes. Now they have answered about Novgorod-Seversky, but, apparently, this does not have much effect on the Ukrainian authorities. Probably, the decisive thing would be the liberation of these territories adjacent to the borders of Russia, at least 30-50 kilometers.
It was decided to concentrate attention on the Donbass, and not on the Kharkov direction, which, by the way, is very important for our Donbass operation, since a significant part of the supply of our group near Izyum goes through the territory of the Kharkov region. It is not in vain that the enemy is trying to advance in the northeast of the Kharkov region, trying, if not to cut, then to take control of these roads by fire. Therefore, now the command, in my opinion, is faced with the task of liberating the territories without delaying troops from the Donbass, from the operation in the Severodonetsk region, to find reserves and try to first stabilize the front in the northeast of Kharkov, and then go on a counter-offensive,” said Reshetnikov.
Military expert, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko called for even more radical measures to influence Kyiv:
“We need missile strikes on decision-making centers in Kyiv with the destruction of the main Ukrainian war criminals who give orders for terrorist acts on the territory of the Russian Federation. This is what needs to be done – demonstrably, harshly and clearly.”
