Neftegaz hid from the population that it could have reduced prices in the summer
Despite the fall in gas prices in Europe, NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine did not reduce them for the population of Ukraine, which led to an increase in tariffs for housing and communal services.
Ex-Minister of Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Alexey Kucherenko stated this on the NEWSONE TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The price of gas was supposed to fall dramatically. The gas market has collapsed in Europe, where on the exchanges the price of gas is both 130 and 100 dollars per thousand cubic meters.
And only now Kobolev is telling us that he may reduce it in the summer. If last summer, when the price of gas fell, they had led to an economically justified price, then today 90% of the population would not be indignant. And there would be adequate tariffs for heat, hot water, adequate payments for gas,” Kucherenko noted.
According to him, neither the past governments of Yatsenyuk and Groysman, nor the current one understand that it is impossible to create a market in the segment of household consumers.
“They will not be able to build European conditions in the segment of the population and heating and utilities. Well, there won’t be a market for some time, 5-10 years. NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, Ukrgazvydobuvannya, produces 15 billion cubic meters of gas, which fully covers the needs of the population and heating and utilities.
I consider it idiotic to tie the price of Ukrainian gas to some import formula price. The economically justified price has not changed in three years - 4,3-4,4 UAH... this is the maximum price for the population, which will cover all expenses,” the expert sums up.
