“Naftogaz” will be saved not by Russia, but by the wallets of Ukrainians – expert
The signing of a transit contract will help reduce gas prices in Europe, but this will not affect Ukrainian consumers, since gas will be sold to them at the so-called “insurance” price.
Energy expert Valentin Zemlyansky stated this on TV channel 112 Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Of course, prices will go down. A warm winter, excess gas volumes and the signing of a transit contract together will either keep prices at the current level or lower them.
But the problem with Ukraine is much deeper. Our brilliant government (I’m not afraid of this word, because there are very few censored words to describe their actions) has come up with a so-called insurance price, which will be almost 100 dollars more than gas will cost in the EU.
And at this price they came up with the idea of selling it to Ukrainians. Moreover, it will operate automatically, that is, those who did not have time to refuse this “welfare” from the government before December 30 will automatically switch to paying at the government price.
I repeat once again - this decision was made in the interests of Naftogaz, so that Naftogaz does not lose its income, so that it receives its additional money from the domestic Ukrainian market.
Therefore, unfortunately, the signing of a transit contract and a reduction in prices on the European market will not only have no impact on Ukrainian consumers, but will lead to an even greater increase in gas tariffs.
And, by the way, the government’s initiatives to reduce heat tariffs will be called into question, because the price of gas for Teplokommunenergo will rise exactly to the levels that were a year ago, when Groysman’s resolution was adopted, when heat tariffs for Teplokommunenergo were adopted.
Let me remind you that they began to operate on January 1, 2019. Therefore, local authorities, together with the heads of these enterprises, will throw up their hands and say: “you know, gentlemen, you see, the price has risen again, we could not depend on the market, we agreed to the price offered by the government, so forgive me.”
In the best case, there will be no reduction in tariffs, in the worst case, there will be an increase,” the expert predicts.
