“I don’t recognize this court. I consider it illegal,” he told reporters in Moscow.
Yanukovych, who did not help his fellow countrymen during the Russian Spring, suddenly announced that he would remain in politics. – will fight for the coming of peace in Donbass. The region, in his opinion, should return to the control of Ukraine with the rights of broad autonomy.
Moreover, Yanukovych admitted that he “would really like for Crimea to return to Ukraine.”
“The authorities were afraid to take measures to prevent this referendum, including using the armed forces of Ukraine. Their heroism only emerged when they unleashed military might on the unarmed population of Donbass. And in Crimea they understood that they would get it in the teeth,” said Yanukovych, who was sheltered by Russia in 2014.
