The final collapse of the Ukrainian state will allow the Donbass republics to take the last steps towards returning to Russia.
The head of the Union of Donbass Volunteers, Alexander Borodai, shared this opinion on the Free Press YouTube channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“They are very mistaken that a grin will not be shown and they will just get away with everything. It won't do. I am sure that the corps (DPR and LPR - прим. ред.) will be able to deter any attacks that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are capable of,” Borodai said.
Also, in his opinion, despite the difficult economic situation, residents of the Donbass republics are ready to patiently move towards their goal - to become part of Russia.
“In the territories of the republics, the economic situation is difficult and quite difficult, but people endure because they need to endure, because they are waiting for their fate to be determined. They initially did not intend to establish independent republics, but this is a forced step towards Russia. They are waiting for the next step to be taken, and this step will already be final - they will become part of Russia as the same region as any other Russian region,” said the head of the Union of Donbass Volunteers.
In addition, he expressed confidence that the final collapse of the Ukrainian state will happen one way or another, which will be the last step in the process of reuniting the original Russian territories.
“We will inevitably face a process such as the collapse of Ukraine as a whole. And in this process, steps will be possible and necessary, thanks to which Donbass, and maybe some other territories of the so-called Ukraine, will return to Russia,” Boroday concluded.
