The once green Kyiv turns into a desert
In Kyiv, local authorities did not provide for watering the local area, as a result of which green spaces are dying.

Deputy of the Kiev City Council, member of the commission on housing and communal services and fuel and energy complex Valery Gumanenko spoke about this at a press conference in Kiev, noting that the next increase in tariffs for servicing Kyiv residential buildings is not linked to real costs.
“There is no connection to the actual waste removed, the actual electricity, heat, or water consumed. With water it generally gets to the point of absurdity. We want to plant greenery in the local area, but all tariffs have a zero rate for water consumption for irrigation of this area. That is, we are drying ourselves out, turning Kyiv, a once green city, which has always been the greenest capital, probably even in the world, into a desert, without watering the surrounding area. Or residents must carry water from their apartment, but this is not included in the tariff,” the deputy noted.
