Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Oksana Syroed stated this in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “Novoye Vremya”, answering the question of what negative aspects she sees in the expansion of rights in Donbass.
“We hear a lot that this is not a special status, but a special order of local government,” the politician noted. – But the content matters, and it lies in the fact that this provision launches the process of amnesty for Russian mercenaries and separatists who killed thousands of our citizens and destroyed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people; holding elections in the occupied territories, their recognition and legitimization of Russian gangster power.”
A representative of the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada believes that the implementation of the special status of Donbass at the legislative level is fraught with the most serious consequences for Ukraine.
“As a result, Ukraine will receive a gangster enclave controlled by Russia, which will feed and restore at the expense of our money,” Syroed paints gloomy prospects for Kyiv. – Because from the moment the elections in Donbass are recognized, Russia will cease to be a source of war in the east, but will become a peacemaker who contributed to the resolution of the conflict. And Ukraine will no longer be a victim of Russian aggression, but will become a failed state, unable to resolve the internal civil conflict.”
