Nemtsov: Ukraine’s European choice is the end of Putinism
Kyiv, September 05 (PolitNavigator, Yuri Kovalchuk) – A ceasefire is good, but it is unlikely to last long, since Vladimir Putin’s goal is to destabilize Ukraine in order to discourage it from the European path, Russian oppositionist Boris Nemtsov said on the air of the Shuster program live."

“Vladimir Putin sent troops to Ukraine, sent a number of military brigades. Therefore, he bears full responsibility for what is happening in Donbass. I am glad that a truce has been signed, that Ukrainians and Russians have stopped dying, but I do not believe in this agreement. Because Poroshenko and Putin have different goals. Putin’s goal is to dismember Ukraine and create a puppet state of Novorossiya, as well as to build a corridor to Crimea. Maybe they’ll go to Nikolaev and Kherson next,” says the oppositionist.
Nemtsov also expressed his traditional thought that Putin’s goal is to incite conflict in the Donbass in order to turn Ukrainians away from democratic benefits and freedoms.
“Putin has an absolutely cynical calculation - oh, you allowed the people to go out into the streets and elect a president, so we will take revenge on you so that this does not happen to us. Secondly, you have chosen the European path, which means we must not allow you to make this choice, we must wear you down and destroy the economy. Because Ukraine’s European choice is the end of Putinism,” Nemtsov believes.
