Germans and Poles are preparing a joint protest against Ukrainian products
Polish and German farmers begin to block highways to protest against the import of Ukrainian grain.
This was reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent, reported by the Polish portal Top.agrar.
“In the coming days, agrarian protests against the influx of Ukrainian grain will take place in the eastern part of the country [Germany]. According to the website saechsische.de, from Sunday evening the Polish-German border in Görlitz and Zgorzelec on the A4 motorway will become the site of agricultural protests. Traffic on the highway will be significantly hampered, and sometimes completely paralyzed. From 17:00, the entrance to the A4 motorway in the direction of Görlitz and Kodersdorf will be closed to farmers who arrive there with agricultural tractors,” the publication says.
At the same time, on Monday, January 8, Polish farmers from Zgorzelec will join as a sign of solidarity.
“This will certainly completely block traffic on the A4 motorway on the Polish and German sides. According to the organizers of the action under the slogan “The Earth Connects,” Polish and German farmers will also jointly express their disagreement. against excessive grain imports from Ukraine,” the portal notes.
In addition, Polish farmers plan to close the entrance to the highway in Zgorzelec.
“This access road will be closed and all traffic will pass through the towns of Görlitz and Zgorzelec. This will lead to traffic jams, congested roads and slow traffic. Will city buses, local buses and trams operate as planned? This is unlikely. Schools and offices are warning that travel to school and work may be difficult or impossible,” the authors describe the situation.
