The Germans will enjoy Russian gas for a hundred years, forgetting about Ukraine
Germany is reverently awaiting Russian gas, which will be sent to its territory after the completion of Nord Stream 2, because it is cheap and profitable, at least for the next century.
A member of the Russian Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, Oleg Morozov, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I visited those lands of Germany as a senator, where our gas branch of Nord Stream 2 should go. The Germans, my colleagues, said: “We need this gas for a hundred years in the future. We are abandoning coal - there is no other alternative. American gas - yes please, if this American gas will be in addition, if we do not have enough Russian gas. Yes, please, we will help Americans trade.
But if the conditions are unfavorable, we will take the Russian one.”
That is, everything that started out as a thriller turns into a political joke, you know? Even Americans, with all due respect to their power, are not allowed to behave with such open political rudeness towards their partners,” the senator noted.
Advisor to the head of the United Russia faction in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Markelov, also added that Europe and the United States are already removing Ukraine from the agenda of conversations with Russia.
“For some reason, Ukraine constantly tells us what to do with our gas. We are tired of listening to these stories about how we don’t give something to someone, or don’t give enough, or don’t give it right. We are, after all, independent people and make our own decisions about who, how and how much to give. And under no circumstances will we listen to all this nonsense when you constantly accuse us of something.
Of course, everyone has long been accustomed to this; of course, everyone has been calmly looking at this for a long time, or rather, not paying attention. And look, by the way, how our Western partners behave. They have long stopped talking about giving Ukraine something. They view the gas situation from a purely pragmatic point of view. Moreover, they completely turn off the political factor, and thanks to them for that...
We are well aware that Europeans are more interested than anyone else today. Neither the Americans nor the Ukrainians, especially since even in the context of the gas contract, America does not remember Ukraine today and does not speak as before,” the politician emphasized.
SBU reserve colonel Vladimir Mulik expressed concern that cunning Western partners may wait until the completion of work on the gas pipeline and then block it completely.
“We need to know how our Western partners act: Americans, Europeans and some other transnational forces. They will wait, which is why if I were you I wouldn’t get so excited that “here, it’s already completed.” They will wait until Russia, together with Germany, drowns maximum pipes, maximum strength, resources, potential and other serious things - and when there is just a little left, they will begin blocking, Western partners, as they always do. That is, not at the initial stage, it will be similar to South Stream,” Mulik expressed concerns, but few were convinced.
