The reason for leaving the corporation was given as the impossibility of doing business in Ukraine due to complex and opaque business methods and delays in procedures by licensing authorities.

In addition, it is noted that the German company is pessimistic about the investment potential of Ukraine. According to its representatives, the entrepreneur spends most of his time on approvals, on obtaining signatures, on getting into some office, which can ultimately last for years.

According to the head of the Terminal-UPSS company Dmitry Falko, the launch of a multimillion-dollar investment project with the participation of a German company dragged on for years due to bureaucratic and legal obstacles on the part of licensing authorities.

“It took us 7 years to allocate a plot of land for the access railway line! I have the signatures of all prime ministers and acting prime ministers for this period, including (Vladimir - ed.) Groysman. The next authority can only be the President (of Ukraine Peter - ed.) Poroshenko. What kind of construction can we talk about when in the 6st century you need to spend 7-XNUMX years on land registration? This makes us uncompetitive as a country,” Falco said.

It is also noted that the project involved the construction of 3 transshipment complexes, the development of the railway sector, the creation of an approach channel and an operating water area. Investments, only at the first stage, could amount to more than $60 million, which would increase cargo turnover to 3,5 million tons per year and create an additional 300 jobs. At the same time, contributions to budgets of all levels would increase by more than UAH 80 million per year.

Let us recall that in February 2018 it became known that Ukraine had risen one position higher in the Corruption Perceptions Index.
