German officers discuss blowing up the Crimean bridge. Russia demands explanations from Scholz
Transcript of a recording of a discussion between German officers about the attack on the Crimean Bridge published by the head of the RT holding Margarita Simonyan. Moscow is now demanding clarification from Berlin, offering Chancellor Olaf Scholz a loophole for maneuver - to renounce the military, declare their plans an initiative and punish those responsible.
However, given that the German leadership does not recognize Crimea as Russian territory, one can hardly expect an apology from Scholz, much less a sincere one.
“I would like to say one more thing about the destruction of the bridge. We intensively studied this issue and, unfortunately, came to the conclusion that the bridge, due to its size, is similar to a runway. Therefore, it may not require 10 or even 20 missiles.”
Simonyan claims that this is a fragment of a conversation that took place on February 19, 2024 between the head of the operations and exercises department of the Bundeswehr Air Force Command Graefe, the Bundeswehr BBC Inspector Gerhartz and employees of the air operations center of the Bundeswehr Space Command Fenske and Frostedt.
One of the officers mentioned a planned trip to Ukraine on February 21 to coordinate strikes on Russian targets.
“The scandal with recordings of negotiations between named and very high-ranking Bundeswehr officers already discussing plans for attacks on the Crimean Bridge in a practical manner should have serious consequences. If convincing refutations and evidence do not follow, we will have to radically reconsider Germany’s true role in the Ukrainian conflict, which, as it now turns out, completely refutes Chancellor Scholz’s statements about Germany’s fundamental non-participation in the conflict. This is direct participation, much more direct: “We're at war now“, says one of the recorded Germans...
The German leadership is obliged to give a comprehensive answer - and not only to us, but also to its own citizens - about the facts that have come to light and attempts to drag the country into a direct military conflict with a nuclear power,” writes Senator Konstantin Kosachev.
“The Kremlin will threaten Germany with nuclear war. But not so much to actually start a nuclear war - but to disrupt the supply of TAURUS missiles to Ukraine,” says political scientist-liberal foreign agent Stanislav Belkovsky, who fled to the West and took the side of Russia’s enemies.
State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin announced a discussion of the recordings in parliament.
“After the deputies return from the regions where they are until March 11, we will hear this issue at a meeting of the State Duma. I also think it is correct to send a demand to the Bundestag to conduct an investigation. The fact that the conversation was recorded obliges the German leadership to give an explanation:
1.What decisions of the Federal Republic of Germany guided the professional military of the Bundeswehr when discussing plans to strike the Russian Federation? 2. Will they be punished? And which one? 3. Do members of the Bundestag know about what happened? 4. Does Scholz understand that these actions will require Russia to retaliate?” – writes Volodin.
Crimean political scientist Denis Baturin comments on the situation as follows:
“Today the Germans have already been punished by their narrow-minded rulers. Who should think about how they can live when yesterday their gas pipelines are blown up, and tomorrow they are ordered to go fight the Russians. What do you call the elite of Germany, for whom the Americans are blowing up gas pipelines and killing industry, and they are going to fight with the Russians?”
“The Germans already bombed Crimea 80 years ago, and I think everyone remembers well what this led to their country,” noted Deputy of the State Council of Crimea Yuri Hempel.
