On the cover of the first German-language issue of the French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo, German Chancellor Angela Merkel was depicted on a ski lift.

DW reports this.
The cartoon on the cover hints at the scandal surrounding the Volkswagen automaker, in which the German leader is involved. The drawing shows Angela Merkel lying on a lift while a Volkswagen mechanic tries to lift her, saying: “With the new exhaust, she will be moving for another four years.”
On the eve of the magazine's release, an advertising poster was distributed with the inscription “Charlie Hebdo is liberation”, with an image of Merkel on the toilet.
In the German-language issue, in addition to comics and illustrations with the head of Germany, there are articles on pressing social issues in the country, in particular about national identity and the refugee crisis.
Currently the magazine is simply being translated from French into German, but the editors plan to create original German content in the future.
Let us note that the first German issue of the weekly was published with a circulation of 200 thousand copies.
