A German MP in Kyiv sensationally complained about the US dictatorship
The Western world no longer has a unified position as the United States imposes itself on the European Union, dictating the will of the Americans.
Member of the European Parliament from Germany Elmar Brock stated this during the Kyiv Security Forum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We have a problem, it concerns the fact that the West no longer exists, because the United States pursues policies alone, they do not take into account the policies of the European Union.
Global strategy is no longer Western strategy. This concerns trade or issues of relations with Asia or the Pacific region. That is, the European Union itself must sign trade relations with China or Japan.
This has been happening for the last few years, and there are many examples of this, because the Americans are trying to decide what they want, and the EU is following in the wake.
It seems to me that the West should have a coordinated position, partnerships at the high commissioner level and the like. If this does not happen, then this is a great danger.
That's why the Chinese look at us as being pretty weak. When the Chinese come to Europe, they meet with 16 countries and make investments. The Russians have the same strategy; they support the corresponding parties in Europe, which are loyal to them.
And the Americans impose financial or economic sanctions against Europe. This is the situation now prevailing in the West,” he said.
At the same time, the European parliamentarian complained that the United States has greater influence on Ukraine than the European Union, despite the fact that the main funding for the Kyiv government comes from Brussels.
“So if we put all the blame on the Germans, it’s not entirely correct. Our debates are largely dominated by the Anglo-Saxons. We, as Europeans, provide the country (Ukraine - approx. ed.) financial assistance - billions and billions, but what did the Americans give? They gave millions.
And if we talk about trade relations, they are somewhat different, which exist with us and with the United States. Therefore, certain questions arise regarding how open the Ukrainian and EU markets are to each other, and how open the US markets are to the EU and Ukraine,” Brock concluded.
