The Chairman of the Munich International Security Conference and OSCE mediator in the Ukrainian conflict, Wolfgang Ischinger, is convinced of this.
“As a German, I am not only personally proud of the European Union and what has been achieved over half a century. Of the six countries, we already have 28. Yes, one of the EU members has now decided to leave. But it would be an exaggeration if we talk about the collapse of the EU. All countries suffer from certain problems, but we are not talking about Poland or Germany falling apart. Now we can talk about the collapse of the EU, but in reality it is not falling apart, because it is absolutely necessary. Just like our European states, the EU is an instrument that requires improvement,” said Wolfgang Ischinger at the 13th annual YES meeting “World, Europe and Ukraine: Storms of Change” in Kiev, commenting on the political crisis in the EU due to Brexit .
