German observer: There was an unprecedented turnout in Donbass for Europe
Donetsk, November 03 (PolitNavigator, Mikael Chagalyan) – At yesterday’s elections in Donbass there was an unprecedented turnout for Europe, said German observer Johan Ewald Stadler, representing the Reforms and Conservatives party.

“I want to say the main thing: I have never seen so many people voting in my life. Some people waited more than an hour to vote. This is unprecedented for Europe - no one will wait more than five minutes during elections in Europe.
I received information from the European media that people here are oppressed, intimidated, but here we saw the opposite: people are very friendly, everyone is very friendly, one might even say relaxed, very kind, and to imagine that this is happening in a civil war - impossible.
And we can say that the Ukrainian authorities made a mistake by not meeting these people halfway. Ukraine has lost not only the voices, but also the hearts of the residents of Donetsk, who will never return back to Ukraine,” he said.
Stadler also commented on the SBU’s statement that foreign observers will now be declared persona non grata.
“Really? Well, this is not news to me, because I was already on the blacklist before, so this is not news. I already got there after the referendum in Crimea. But believe me, this doesn’t make me sleep worse. I’m not the first to be blacklisted, and I won’t be the last,” says a German observer.
