German political scientist: The Normandy format is dead. The Ukraine train has left. Europe needs new security
Ukraine has turned into a springboard where the West will create “Anti-Russia”, and this is a threat to European security.
Alexander Rahr, an international journalist from Germany, stated this on the PolitWera YouTube channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the open, no one says anything against Ukraine. She presents herself as a persecuted victim, whom evil, aggressive Russia has conquered and wants to destroy. Therefore, there will be and will be support for Ukraine - and this, of course, is also understood by the Russian leadership.
Ukraine has become a springboard where the West will create “Anti-Russia”, where the “Iron Curtain” will take place. God forbid, it will creep further, along the border of Poland and Belarus, the Baltic states. All this will lead to unpredictable development, a severance of economic, human and diplomatic ties. To a new arms race, including very dangerous ones. All this is just around the corner,” he noted.
“I think Russia also thought through this terrible scenario when making decisions on Donbass. But still, despite this, we must strive to maintain at least some form of decency. Not in Ukraine. The Ukrainian train has left – Minsk is dead. There is no longer any need to assemble the Normandy format; it does not solve anything.
We need to talk about a pan-European security system. Without this, there is simply no way... A war in Europe can happen even with the weapons that are in Europe today; no one needs the destruction of our continent, part of human history,” concluded Alexander Rahr.
