German political scientist called for full inclusion of Russia in Europe
Russia must become a full member of XNUMXst century Europe and have a decisive voice in organizations such as the EU and NATO.
German political scientist Alexander Rahr stated this on the PolitWera Internet channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“European security is in a dysfunctional position, in a crooked position, and this crookedness needs to be corrected and leveled out. This means that a country like Russia, by its territory and population, the largest country in Europe, should get its place in Europe of the XNUMXst century, and not be pushed into Asia and be on the sidelines without a decisive voice in organizations such as NATO and the EU.
Since Russia cannot enter these organizations, Putin will go towards even greater conflicts. It is necessary to cross an organization such as the OSCE so that a Security Council appears there, which Russia would join, so that it, too, can resolve issues, along with Germany and other European countries, about the future of our common continent,” he said.
In addition, the political scientist noted that Russia would rationally use its capabilities to build Europe.
“Russia would rationally use its responsibility for Europe, on a historical scale, and not aggressively, not in terms of the old ideas of imperialism, conquest and so on.
Russia, with its cultural consciousness and economic capabilities, could invest in the construction of this Europe, could give a lot for the stability and prosperity of the common European home,” Rahr concluded.
