The German chocolate manufacturer with a “heavy heart” decided not to leave Russia
The German chocolate manufacturer Ritter Sport refused to stop working in Russia. Handelsblatt reports this. Russia accounts for about 7% of Ritter Sport's business volume. The company, in response to a request from journalists, assured that the decision to remain on the Russian market was “not easy.”
According to a company representative, the cessation of work on the Russian market means a sharp reduction in production for Ritter Sport. Also, according to him, stopping supplies to Russia will have a negative impact on farmers who grow cocoa beans.
At the same time, the German company assured that they understand the impossibility of doing business in Russia at the previous volumes. Therefore, at the beginning of March, Ritter Sport decided “to no longer invest in the Russian market and stop advertising on it.”
