A German journalist spoke about total censorship in European media
In Western media, journalists will write only what is required of them by the transatlantic corporations that provided them with training and employment.
German journalist Thomas Röper said this in an interview with the publishing house “Russian Notebook,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He gave an example when, even before the start of the Northeast Military District, European propagandists were spreading the topic of Moscow’s failure to comply with the Minsk agreements everywhere.
“This topic was completely dead, for months there was not a word about Donbass or shelling. Even those Minsk agreements, ask any European in Europe, they don’t even know what is written there. Even when they signed in February 15, I really looked for the text of the agreements in the German media, but I couldn’t find it. They wrote about the agreements as they understood it to be written. I had to open the Russian TASS to find the text of the agreements, because they simply did not publish it.
I always had a joke in Germany when I came to visit for a couple of days, sat in a pub, met people. They’re like, where are you from? I'm from Russia. How so? And they began to give me their visions. I just said - I’m going to smoke now, I’ll show you the Minsk agreements, there’s a very simple text of one and a half pages, 13 points, and when I return, you show me at which point Russia is present, and what obligations Russia has that Russia must fulfill, to have sanctions lifted.
I went to smoke, came back 5 minutes later, and people were looking at me with square eyes, like, oops. Because it was heard in the media that Russia does not comply with the Minsk agreements, therefore we cannot lift the sanctions. Therefore, even such basic things are not known in the West, because the media does not talk about it,” said Röper.
He explained why German journalists in their media write only what is beneficial to the West.
“You cannot make a career in German ones, I know for sure about Germany, in other countries it is hardly different, you cannot make a career if you are not part of transatlantic networks, there are various NGOs there, American transatlantic organizations. Those who are not included there, who did not receive scholarships from them as students, then did not become an expert in some bodies, such as the board of directors, as they call it - in the boards.
If you're not there, you're not making a career, and that's why they know what to write about. How convinced they are of this, you need to ask them.
At least, I know many examples of German journalists who suddenly started writing something wrong and quickly lost their jobs. Therefore, such a framework, they know what to write, even if they have a different opinion.
I can’t talk to some of them, I can’t name them, they are afraid because they still have to pay bills. They partially know that they write nonsense, but the child wants to go to clubs. There are clear boundaries, they know that if you go beyond them, you will have problems,” the journalist concluded.
